MLM Prospecting | MLM Prospect

If your mlm prospecting relies on cold calling, referrals, instant messenger communications, and e-mails you already know the importance of a qualified mlm prospect. But what if there was a way to learn about your prospect and their needs and then figure out how you can meet those needs. Wouldn’t it make mlm prospecting simple?

So what’s a considered a good mlm prospect and where on earth do you find them?  A qualified prospect is a person who needs what you’re offering because it solves some problem they have.  How will your prospect know if what you’re offering is going to help?  That’s where good solid mlm prospecting comes in handy.

First off, start by getting to know your prospect, or in other words, start doing some relationship marketing.  Start building a relationship and over time you’ll get a clear picture about them and their needs. This way you’ll know if you want to work with them on your mlm team. Frankly, some will let you know right away they aren’t interested. Some simply won’t understand how you could possibly help them, until you educate them. Some mlm prospects will rule themselves out with their questions to you.

Example: How hard do I have to work to make any money?  How fast can I make money?  Is this a pyramid scheme? You’ll know right away your business isn’t for them and that’s super because they will not work to make your business grow.  These are the same people that hate their jobs but can’t seem to find a way to get out of it. They’re frustrated, angry and become comfortable in their misery. Don’t waste countless hours trying to convince people to work with you.  They either want to because they recognize the value of your leadership or they don’t want to and hounding them isn’t going to make any difference. So where can you find a good mlm prospect?

Facebook and MLM Prospecting

A favorite network marketing recruiting website for many smart people is Facebook. Simply put, Facebook is all about networking and mlm prospecting. You can connect with friends, old and new and build different networks of friends based on the things you have in common with them.  Aside from using Facebook to connect with friends, you can also use it to create groups of friends, or join groups that are built around your love of network marketing and MLM and a common desire for success (i.e. like-minded positive entrepreneurial people).  A good mlm prospect is one who doesn’t need selling!

Your best bet is to connect with like-minded people through Facebook groups. You’re likely to find several MLM and Internet marketing groups on Facebook that appeal to you and you’re free to join each of them if you like. This will give people a way to see and get to know you and for you to get to know other marketers. You can learn from them and they can learn from you. A lot of good-natured idea and information sharing goes on, which leads to every participant having more resources for success. But you need to go beyond the groups in order to really benefit from Facebook mlm prospecting.

Start to make “friends” with other group members. You can do this by going through group lists and inviting individual group members to become your Facebook friend. One way to accomplish this is to go down the list and simply request each person as your friend. You can choose to send them a message along with your request, which is helpful if they don’t already know you. I personally send a message with each friend request. It’s important not to send the exact same message to each person – you’ll be accused of spamming by Facebook and risk losing your membership! Spam is bad. Also of greater importance – DO NOT SPAM your opportunity! That’s just bad mlm prospecting due to the fact that you haven’t even created a relationship with them.

The beauty of Facebook is that you ‘re gaining new friends each time you add a friend to your list – they all have friends that you might like to connect with as well! (Can you say mlm prospect * infinity = success) As you can see, networking through Facebook is easy to do, and it has the potential for growing your list of connections by leaps and bounds!

  1. Errol, this is rock solid information. I only wish more marketers out there knew the techniques you discuss in this article. I see so many people on Facebook and Twitter trying to sell, sell, sell, without providing any value first, or even trying to build relationships.

It’s a know fact that people will buy from others that they know, like, and trust. Our goal then, as network marketers, is not to sell, but to become known, liked, and trusted by as many people as possible.

We do that by providing value to others. We are then compensated for that value, but it’s not the compensation that we focus on. In fact, this is the only industry that you can grow your business in a huge way simply by focusing on helping others to build their businesses.

Errol, thank you for this gem of information. You are providing awesome value.

Keep up the excellent work, my friend.

  2. Hi Errol,

great advice about the proper use of Facebook. It’s an excellent prospecting tool if we know how.

Most people know that it’s smarter to talk directly to the decision-making instance in the human mind than to the conscious mind.

Well, you know how it’s more fun for everybody !

    Thanks for sharing your insights.

    Take care

    Oliver
